From Qiqqa to Zotero

Hi, I have just imported my Qiqqa library in Zotero. It works quite well. Associated pdfs are nicely attached to the proper reference.

However, it seems some pdfs have not been imported. At first I thought only relatively new files (recently added to Qiqqa) had gone missing, but they are lacking quite randomly.

Has anyone encountered this problem before, and if so, is there a quick fix? Or do I have to cross-check all 1000+ references?

    I've never heard this -- you used RIS tro transfer from Qiqqa? If so, could you open the RIS file in a text editor (notepad will do) and identify the entry pertaining to an item where the PDF did not import and paste it here? (RIS entries go from TY - to ER - ) Same thing if you used bibtex.

    I have used BibTex. I just checked the file and I think I have identified the problem. Qiqqa seems to have troubles converting French diacritics (I work on French History, therefore I have many entries containting é, è, ç etc.)

    For instance, the BibTex for the article 'Les institution administrative des départements hanséatiques' reads:

    title = {Les institutions administratives des d\'epartements hans\'eatiques}

    But, of course, a filename cannot contain a backslash. I guess Qiqqa is the source of the problem. I could check whether RIS is a better option.

    Yeah, that'd break import. Do check RIS -- otherwise I think using a good regular expression search&replace in Notepad++ should be able to fix that.

    Indeed, all é's were converted into \e , all ç's into \cc etc. With CTRL+F it is easy to pinpoint all errors and re-attach the missing pdf files.
