Cannot quit Zotero app on Mac

Whenever I try to normally quit the Zotero app on my Mac it stops responding, and I can't force quit it. The only solution I know right now is to force shutdown my computer, as trying to normally restart it won't work because the computer won't shut down until the app quits, which it won't. Any solutions guys?

    You can't force-quit it? As in, option-control-click on the Dock icon -> Force Quit doesn't even work?

    Are you low on disk space on the drive that contains your Zotero data directory? Do you have the data directory on a normal hard drive or a network share?

    Can you generate real-time debug output and then try to quit Zotero, and then post the last 15 or so lines here? That might tell us exactly where it's stopping.

    I've got plenty of space on my drive, and Zotero is located on my computers hard drive.
    I can't seem to open Zotero using those instructions, even though it's in my application folder.

    You'd have to say exactly what's happening or not happening.

    But you can try installing Zotero 5.0, which was just released, to see if that fixes the problem.

    I have Zotero 5 and have started having the same problem -- Zotero won't shut down, won't even force-quit, and computer won't shut down normally because it says Zotero is still open. I have heaps of spare memory and disk space.

    @neilgodfrey: To start, can you provide a Report ID after trying to close it?
