[suggestion] add checkbox as an optional column in Zotero stand alone app

I use Zotero for reserach papers. I typically compile a bibliography and then begin reading, adding more sources as I find them. I often wish I could add a column alongside title, author, date, etc. that is just a checkbox. That way I could easily keep track of which sources I have read and which I haven't. Would anyone else find this helpful?
  • You can use Colored Tags to accomplish something like this. Make a “read” tag, then right-click on it in the tag selector and say Assign Color. Then you can add that tag just by typing “1”.
  • I just gave that a try and I can't figure out how to get it to work. I only see tags over on the right hand side where you can switch between info, notes, tags, related. I can make a tag in the tag section, but can't select a color. I also don't see an option to make the tags a column along with title, author, date, etc. Have I misunderstood your suggestion?
  • Right click on the tag in the tag selector that lists all of the tags in your library on the lower left side of the Zotero window.
