How to edit PDF in the original position

when I read the papers, I ususlly mark some important words in the paper, but Zotero tell me that I can't edit the original manuscript and I must create a copy in another place and then to edit it. Could anyone tell me how to edit PDF in the original position ?

This isn't Zotero giving you that message, but your PDF reader application. What program are you using and what exactly is the message you are receiving?

Are you using Adobe Reader to read your PDFs? Recent versions of that program default to saving in Adobe's cloud storage. You can disable that setting using these instructions:

Unfortunately, it not helps for me. Only close Zotero helps and then I can save the document in the current location with current name - I reported here https://forums.zotero.org/discussion/66157/beta-5-0-the-changed-pdf-cannot-be-saved but nothing change in beta 220.

Could both of you submit Debug IDs (https://www.zotero.org/support/debug_output) for an attempt to open or save a PDF that triggers the read-only message?

I am out of office next two days, so it should take some time.

EDIT: I am in my office for few minutes, but today I have no problem with PDF editing.
