email unavailable

I have just installed Zotero. I went through the registration process but was unable to use my regular email address cumming@chaosmanagement.com (I got the message that this address was unavailable). So I used my backup gmail address instead and that was accepted. Why was my primary email address unavailable and should I be concerned about this? Is there any way I could fix it so I can use my primary address?

  • If it's not used by another account you should be able to use it.
    Is it possible you accidentally tried to use it as a username? We don't allow emails as usernames as it tends to cause confusion. If it's not already being used by another account you should be able to add it to this one on the website under Settings > Account.
