entering zotero-generated citations into already existing footnotes

Hi, I'm new to zotero. I've searched but can't find the answer to this one. If there is something already written on this, please send me to the right thread.

I need to put a lot of non-citation text into my footnotes. Way too much for "prefix" and "suffix" options to really work.

Right now I've got a completed article with footnotes I created through word. What I want is for Zotero to add citations into these footnotes. I often need more than one book/article cited in one footnote and I need to be able to add them in between a lot of text I have already written. Is this possible?
  • Yes, that just works. Have you tried and are encountering any problems?
  • Sorry, I haven't tried it because I only know how to add a citation by adding a new footnote through Zotero. What are the steps I need to take once I have created the footnote in Word?
  • Just have the cursor in the footnote, exactly where you want to have the citation, and insert it there.
  • Great. Very simple. Sorry for being so thick about that. Thanks for your patience.
