Changes Made to Entries Don't Save

If I make an edit to an existing field in an existing entry and click to another entry, the edit is not saved. I must first click somewhere else in the entry for it to save. Is there a reason for this? If not, can it be corrected? I don't know how many times my edits have been ignored, requiring that I redo them.

    I don't know if there is a reason, but there are other work arounds. My habit is to just hit enter after I edit a field. You shouldn't have to click somewhere else in the entry; anywhere other than on another item seems to work for me (changing the collection, clicking on an empty spot in the middle pane (but not an item in the pane), the webpage, location bar, etc.).

    Thanks. It's mildly annoying, but I'll try to get in the habit of hitting enter until this is fixed.
