Zotero Connector for Chrome

I have followed a few threads on the topic, but when I click the icon "Save to Zotero" on Chrome the little grey circle beacon expands, but nothing is saved into Standalone.

Then when I look at extensions in Chrome, Zotero is listed, however, when I click on options, only general and advanced are listed in the top left corner and nothing happens when I click on them.

Please advise
  • Do you see the message "Zotero standalone is currently available" in preferences of Zotero Chrome Connector, on general tab?
In all cases, It will be very helpful to send the debug output log from Connector and post here the Debug ID.
  • @LiborA I don't think JaasonGeerts can send the Debug ID, because his preferences page is broken.

@JaasonGeerts What OS, version of Chrome and Extension? This is not a usual recommendation, but try reinstalling/updating chrome and Zotero Chrome extension. If that doesn't help, try disabling other extensions one by one and seeing if that helps. A properly working options page is a good indicator on whether the rest of the extension is behaving (subject to our bugs) as expected.
  • Thanks so much for getting back to me! Windows 7 professional, Zotero Version 58.0.3029.81, extension version: Version: 4.0.29.11. I'll try your suggestion as well
  • Gah. Still no luck :(
  • Did disabling other extensions change anything? Try disabling any security software you have as well. There's really no reason this shouldn't work.

If that doesn't help, could you:

    1. Open Zotero extension preferences/options
    2. Press F12 (or Cmd+Alt+I if on MacOS)
    3. Developer tools will have popped up
    4. Select the console tab
    5. Take a screenshot/copy the contents of the console
    6. Upload the screenshot somewhere and post a link here/paste the contents on gist.github.com (no registration needed) and post the link here
  • Now the Zotero tab in Word is missing. Disaster! Thanks for your help. I'll do as you suggested and post it in here.
  • Zotero extension preferences where?
  • Sorry, the tab in Word is gone, but it's been moved to Add-ins.
