Differences between Turabian 8th Ed. full note and Chicago 16th Ed. full note

Hi there,

Could you please tell me what the differences (if any) are in citation between Turabian 8th Ed. full note and Chicago 16th Ed. full note.

Thanks,
Jane.
  • There are a bunch of differences -- relatively subtle, but definitely there -- e.g. handling of URLs, DOIs, and access dates (Chicago Manual doesn't like access dates and prefers DOIs, Turabian doesn't use DOIs and requires access dates). A full list would be kind of tedious to compile, though. Why do you need one?
  • In terms of physical manuals, our seminary requires us to use Turabian, and if something can't be found in that manual to refer to Chicago. But in terms of Zotero, some Phd students have been told to use Chicago full note, and others have been using Turabian. So not sure which to use.
