Import af database in RIS format; Why is the ID field not shown?

I have just imported a large database in RIS format to Zotero, but the ID field is not shown, and that is vital as it refers to the hard copy of the paper. How can I make the ID field be shown?

    I think ID is not imported to Zotero. You can change ID to the note by changing all strings "ID - " to "N1 - ID=" or "N1 - Hardcopy ID=" (or something similar) in the RIS file. After importing, there will be created a note for all records with information about ID of the hardcopy of the paper.

    ID isn't very standardized in its use, which is why Zotero doesn't import it by default. The best Zotero fields for these ID numbers would be Call Number (if they refer to a personal, local, or specific library ID system) or Archive Location (if the items are part of a curated archive or location and should be cited by that number).

    To import them into one of those fields, use find and replace in your RIS file to replace "ID -" with "CN -" (for call number" or "AN -" (for archive location).
