In the process to move from ENDNOTE - instructions on importing files?

cannot fix my endnote and 2 weeks to go to thesis submission so am desperately trying to implement an alternative solution. Downloading zotera now. Is it easy to pull in my endnote data files? tnx.
  • Instructions for moving from Endnote to Zotero are here:
    https://www.zotero.org/support/kb/importing_records_from_endnote

You can import file attachments, yes.

Note though, that Zotero uses a different system from Endnote for formatting citations automatically in the word processor--Endnote Cite While You Write fields are not compatible with Zotero, so you will need to re-insert the citations into your thesis document using Zotero. Depending on how many references you have, that could take you a long time.
  • Can you briefly explain your problem with EndNote?

(this forum is obviously not the go-to place for EndNote support, but it would help us to know what's wrong with EndNote in your case)
  • Thanks for help....I have a COM issue and cannot resolve it. Endnote crashes....word crashes....very frustrating. Will try import into zotera tomorrow (Am in Borneo)
  • Mm, that might be hard to troubleshoot from here.

As @bwiernik says above, though, if you have a large thesis it might take a lot of work to switch over your document. It might be a lot faster to complete your thesis on a different computer with Word and EndNote installed, if that's an option.
