using two languages and two different styles in paralel- what is the best way?

Hi,
I would like to use Zotero for a database I'm working on- which will be in English and Harvard style. This I have already set up and my library is synchronised with 2 more people.
In paralel, I would like to use it for an article I'm writing in Hebrew while using reference style which is related to Law. And in that case- I would not like my library to be synchronised with the other 2 people.

What is the best way to do it?
many thanks,
Moran
  • Do you want all of the article metadata to be translated (title, authors, etc.), or just the style connector words (volume, presented in, etc.)?
  • The languages are irrelevant -- they are handled by the citation style, so you can switch between them as you like.
For your collaboration, you want to have all references for the library you're working on in a joint group with your collaborators (https://www.zotero.org/groups/). You'll want to have all of your resources you don't want to share in "My Library".
  • Thank you both,
    1) I think 'my library' is currently synchronized with the collaborators. How do I change it? do they need to change as well?

    2) there is no need for translation. My work with the team is in English and for my private research - both English and Hebrew but my question is - how do I set a certain style of citation for each of these two ends so that it will be clear (without the need to play with it all the time) which one is applied to which purpose?

    Many thanks!

Maybe we should take the questions one at a time. If you are sharing "My Library" with other researchers, how are you going about that? Do they have your login details (ID and password) for synchronizing (and logging in to zotero.org)?
  • yes, thanks, I'm working on creating the group library as separate from my library but so far wasn't able to do that.
Am trying to sort this out and will write again once I do.
