Can I use beta and older version to blend compatibility with features

I'm currently using OS 10.4.11., word 2004, and RefWorks (looking to replace this). I need a feature like refGrab-it since I can't see myself adding in the details from pubmed - so I need something that captures the ref data from pdfs, but also I need to insert citations.

Would it be possible to use both versions of zotero - i.e. catologue with beta - but then export to the earlier version for citing my thesis.

    Yes, you can export data as Zotero RDF from Zotero 1.5 and import it into Zotero 1.0.9. There might be a little bit of data loss but it should work.

    Just to be clear, you realize that you can save reference data and PDFs from PubMed using 1.0? 1.5 attempts to recognize metadata in PDFs you've already downloaded, but in 1.0 you'll still get the address bar icon that lets you save directly into your library when browsing PubMed (and all other supported sites).
