Splitting Zotero-DB and storage-folder
Hey everybody,
I am heavily using Zotero with the featuer of linking pdfs to the entries.
How ever my pdf-db is just to large for my laptop.
Up to now, database and storage folder were synced via seafile.
Now I wanted to move the storage folder to a now position and put it in a distinct sync (seafile-)library. That gives my the opportunity to sync only the database on my laptop and everything for my pc at work and home.
Now that I moved the folders, Zotero complains that it cannot find any pdf.
I used the realtiv path option and changed it: (freely translated)
basefolder for linked attachments: seafile/papers (papers should be in here)
main savefolder: seafile/zotero (<- DB is in here)
I used the (great) 'zotero storage scanner' to identify missing files.
But when I deleted them from the DB and add the file again (drag'n'drop)
then a new seafile/zotero/storage folder is created and the file is copied in there.
What/How to do it correctly?!

There are various ways of handling this, but have you considered using "Sync as needed" for file syn on your laptop? That's designed for situations like yours.
I entered the webdav and login but nothing happened.
Checking the server returend a 'test sucessfull' (not literally).
Do I have to do something special to activate the sync?
All Options are on, all set to Download on 'sync' (for the first upload)
When I klick on the manual sync button in Zotero's main view (top right) then it asks for the Zotero-Login... But I don't want to use Zotero's login.
Any chance to get around this without using Zotero's webspace?
