Primary and Secondary Bibliographies in one document

Hello everyone. I am working on the last chapter of my dissertation and my chair tells me that I have to have two bibliographies, one for primary and the other for secondary. Is there a way to do this with Zotero? Please help. I'm trying to finish this thing.

  • No, there is no way to create "automatically" two different bibliographies in one document. But you can create it manually. What is difference between primary and secondary bibliographies?
  • It is possible to get close by modifying a style to sort "primary sources" first, then "secondary sources". As a final step, you can separate the two and insert the appropriate headings. What should go into each bibliography?
  • Thanks for your comments. LiborA, my dissertation is a historical study which requires primary sources bibliography of letters, speeches and other archival material that is not published. Secondary Sources Bibliography will be made up of published materials like journal articles, magazines, and scholarly books on my topic. Both are quite extensive.

bwiernik, how do I modify the style to sort primary and secondary sources? My style is Chicago 16th edition.

and I think there is a link to a version of a style that might be similar to what you need further down.
