Style Error

Hi,

The Organic Geochemistry style doesn't match the style offered here (Elsevier author-date), or by Mendeley (same). I have thus tried to edit it with the Mendeley editor, but I cannot seem to get it to order the citations inline by date, then author name rather than author, then date. I have changed the "sort" function numerous times, but cannot get it to work. Could anyone edit this style or point out a style that does this?

There are two more differences: Journal names need to be in full, and there is no doi where volume and page numbers are given.

are you sure about the DOI? Elsevier generally wants those. Are you just going by the description online or is this based on feedback from the editors?

I have just been told this by the editor. Elsevier links to a .csl file from the journal webpage, but this contradicts the editor's orders (and, in fact, the online description as well). We have told them, but nothing has happened. They might not be up to date with referencing software, or Elsevier does not care.

Here is the feedback: Cite references in date order in the text. Remove doi: where volume and page numbers are given. Don't capitalize words in the titles of articles except for proper names. Journal names must be given in full.

It's available on the style repository now: https://www.zotero.org/styles?q=id:organic-geochemistry
and should be available in Mendeley either now or soon.

Thanks, that's awesome. I found it on Github using the Search function, and it does appear to follow the Editor's recommendations. I'll let you know if I get any more complaints :)

Sorry, my bad. I wanted to share the style as quick as possible in case you were waiting for it, but that earlier link is now indeed outdated. Best place to get it now is via the Zotero Style Repository.
