Zotero generating bibliographies as if et-al-use-last=true, when it=false
I've searched the code for 'et-al-use-last', and both deleted the command and made sure it said "false", but every time I download the style to Zotero and try and create a bibliography, it generates as if 'et-al-use-last' were set to true. Any idea what I could be missing? I don't know how I can share my style either...
Thanks for the quick reply. Let me know if this github link works! https://gist.github.com/anonymous/3431159160cf7eacaa046918e7664809.js
How do I check whether it validates? I do get a message saying '"ginursing.csl" is not a valid CSL 1.0.1 style file, and may not work properly with Zotero.' when I install it, and I have no idea if that is somehow connected!
i.e. in your case
http://validator.citationstyles.org/?url=https://gist.githubusercontent.com/anonymous/3431159160cf7eacaa046918e7664809/raw/65e1e0b5f5cf13708254f75f45730b201754c4c9/ginursing.csl&version=1.0.1
but the two validation errors are just about the metadata and inconsequential.
But your style uses et-al-use-last because that's what you have it in the style:
<bibliography hanging-indent="true" et-al-min="8" et-al-use-first="6" et-al-use-last="true" entry-spacing="0" line-spacing="2">
It's right there.
To add your own test refs to the online editor (they'll be just for you), export them from Zotero in CSL JSON format, open a text editor, then copy them over. I think that works.
