Account/Library
I am a new Zotero 1.0 user and NOT at all expert in technical terminology. My problem is this: I have already developed quite a large, annotated library. When I click on the Zotero tab at the bottom right hand corner of my screen, my whole library opens up and everything is great. However, when I try to sign in to the site, I am told my library is empty. This concerns me. I have searched all the fora and discussions and faqs and have not found a comprehensible answer to this question, which seems rather basic. I have located my firefox profile, etc., etc., but am afraid I will need more basic instructions than any provided on this site.
As an aside, for Zotero developers: I do not think it is viable to expect people to wade through thousands of forum entries in order to find troubleshooting solutions, especially since most of the "similar" questions are unanswered by users or developers.

Upgrade Storage
How can I back up my files in 1.0; or should I just go to 1.5? I'm reluctant to use 1.5 until it is made compatible with word 2004, and until it is tested by more sophisticated users than myself. How can I identify "note" files in the storage folder?
Thank you.
The most standard format is probably RIS. The best for re-import into Zotero is RDF.
Note that the backup described in the FAQ also backs up the notes and text - it allows you to restore your library as-was.
