Merge libraries

Hello
I begin to use zotero, and i receive rdf files from several people. So my library is a mess, like this:
Library
Mark
John's books
- Joshua
Alice articles'

Would it be possible to merge some of these ilbraries (without loosing them and without changing the word documents with the footnotes) ?

Also when i add a new rdf file, it is very hard to know what has been added. Is there a way to count the number of references i have ? Like: before adding "john", i have 400. After, I have 470.

    The first thing to note is that if you import an RDF file from someone else, those citations are no longer connected to any Word document in which they were used.

    Then, collections in Zotero don't work like folders. If you just remove the collection, the items are still in "My Library", so that's an easy way to merge after import.

    No, if you click on My Library, you will see that all of the items are there. If you don't need the individual import collections anymore, you can right-click on them and choose "Delete Collection" (important: don't choose "Delete Collection and Items", that will remove the items from your library and all other collections).
