zotero for firefox crashing frequently

Hi,

Recently, zotero for firefox has been crashing very frequently (dozens of times per day), whereas it almost never used to crash.

I'm running firefox 51.0.1 on MacOS 10.12.3, and my zotero error report ID is 1191794136.

    Something similar is happening to me to. Since last night, everytime I try to do anything in Zotero, I get the spinning wheel (also using updated Firefox and MacOS) and Firefox stops responding and I have to force quit. The only thing I changed recently is updating Java, so could that be the problem? I have never had problems like this before, and now I can't use Zotero. Help!

    Your Zotero is performing a full download of your data, which can happen for various reasons. If you don't see your data locally, I'd guess that you reset Firefox, in which case you should (including restore your old data. Otherwise, just let it go and it will finish after a while. (The upcoming Zotero 5.0 will handle large syncs better.)

    For me, I can see my data and sometimes even perform one thing before I get the spinning wheel and Firefox stops responding. I also recently added unlimited storage because I had reached my limit, so I don't know if that could be a factor. I can see my data locally with the plugin, though, so I don't know if it is a sync error. When will the new 5.0 be out?

    5.0 will be out soon, but this isn't an error — 4.0 just freezes while processing lots of data, so if you let it go for a few minutes, it should finish. If you force-quit it it will just happen again on the next sync.
