Citation errors: surgery for obesity and related disease
Hello,
I'm trying to submit a paper to "surgery for obesity and related disease" and there is already made one CSL style in the style repository, but the problem is that this is not updated, recently. I tried to make an appropriate CSL style for the journal, but it failed.
If someone could correct it, I'd always be really grateful.
Thanks.

What is wrong with the current style? Point it out with exact examples. Current Versus what's wanted etc and a volunteer will look into it. The more you do the likely it is somebody spends their time on this.
This is my first time to leave a comment in this site.
The previous style of "surgery for obesity and related disease (SOARD)" in CSL style repository of ZOTERO is the same to "elsevier vancouver" style.
These are examples of previous one.

** The editors have changed citation style, recently.
Now, the required form for submission are just like this. Here are some examples.
Author Guidelines page: http://www.soard.org/content/authorinfo
Examples:
REFERENCES: References must be limited to those cited in the text, be numbered consecutively in the order in which they are first mentioned, with their positions indicated in the text by a superscript Arabic number.
Any authors beyond six will be replaced by et al. References to articles in press must state journal name and year.
Personal Communications will not be included in the reference list and should be accompanied with written verification and be noted within the text. Authors are responsible for the accuracy and completeness of their references and for correct text citation.

I think that it may be like this."¹,²" without brackets, but the papers recently pressed used numbers with brackets in the text. I don't know to select which one, exactly.
However, the authors' guideline requests 'superscript Arabic numbers'.

The online documentation they have on their website still looks like the Elsevier Vancouver style to me (e.g. Campbell JL, Pedersen OK. The varieties of capitalism and hybrid success. Comp Polit Stud 2007;40:307–32).
This is a random citation from the free example you linked to (from the pdf): Higa K, Ho T, Tercero F, Yunus T, Boone KB. Laparoscopic Roux-en-Y
gastric bypass: 10-year follow-up. Surg Obes Relat Dis 2011;7(4):516–25.
It is the exact same style. Please do point out where you saw that they "recently changed their style" and what is supposedly different between now and then. I might just miss something. :)
The journal is also still with Elsevier (Copyright © 2017 Elsevier Inc. All rights reserved), so I am wondering why they would change their style if they didn't change publishing house.
Thank you for your swift reply.
However, I just meant that the details are different from previous one.
The way to arrange words and abbreviate the authors' name seems to be same to previous one, "the Elsevier Vancouver style".
However, the authors' guide of this journal demands the different way.
As you can see the items in this URL and my previous comments,
http://www.soard.org/content/authorinfo
1. Fetner R, McGinty J, Russell C, Pi-Sunyer FX, Laferrere B. Incretins, diabetes, and bariatric surgery: a review. Surg Obes Rel Dis 2005;1(6):589-99.

Just like this way, brackets were removed and they demand to insert a citation as superscript Arabic number in the text line.
I don't know how to remove this brackets and to change the numbers with brackets
(ex:[1-3],[1,2]) to superscript Arabic numbers(ex: ¹, ²) at a time.
Furthermore, I want to know how to restrict authors' number as ~~(authors' name) et al. just like that the authors' guideline demand. It's very annoying to change the numbers one by one.
Could I make this change in batches?
I tried to edit CSL style, but just failed.
But again, looking at the example pdf you posted (http://www.soard.org/article/S1550-7289(15)00109-4/fulltext ), they use this:
...continualupdating of patient contact information, and standardized
scheduling and patient contact protocols [35].
Future efforts should focus on these strategies to improve...
I.e: square brackets and normal font.
Very often the online documentations of journals are very bad and we have found it's better to go by the actual papers they publish as they often just do their own formatting on the papers after they get handed in by authors.
Edit: I've contacted the journal and told them to sort out their guidelines. Who knows if/when though.
Oh, I see.
I am so confused because this journal is indexed in SCIE and famous for bariatric surgery with relatively high impact score in the medical field.
Then, I should first check the style before submitting my paper.
Anyway, thank you so much.
