Vancouver skipping a number in bibliography
Hi!
I am in the situation where the citations are numbered correctly in order in the text but in bibliography number 37 is missing as a number (the list goes 35, 36, 38, 39,...) and the sitation in text refered as 37 is given number 38 in the bibliography. This continues from there on so that what is number 38 (citation of for example Jones...) is given in bibliography number 39 Jones...
So I have citations from 37 on pointing to wrong authors...
Any ideas what might cause this? Help very welcomed! (I use windows 10, word plug in and firefox version of zotero)
Thank you
Anu

Chost 37I wonder if there is a chost or some kind of left over of a removed sitation, that couses this. Even if I ask word to show hidden text, I can not find anything. Is the only solution to edit bibliography numbers manually ( I am close to submitting my article).

bwiernikDoes it persist if you delete the bibliography and re-insert it?

Chost 37wow, it got seriously worse. Now the numbers are mixed in several places. I think it got confused because I had commenting on in word and some references in text were underlined due to commenting. Luckily I saved the previous version of the document...

Chost 37I mean more precicely the bibliography is missing first 10, starts numbering from 11 and then number 3 appears in list after number 20, maybe cause it is referred in the text for second time. How ever this gives me a hint that the problem might be related with commenting...

Chost 37It does not get better even if I turn the commenting off and create the bibliography again.

Chost 37I approved all comments and soved all discussion boxes, still first 10 referencences do not show in bibliography in their own place. Looks like if a text including a sitation is commented (underlined for commenting) zotero looses it from bibliography.

adamsmithI don't think that's a general issue, no. I'd just run through https://www.zotero.org/support/word_processor_plugin_troubleshooting#debugging_broken_documents

Chost 37Thank you, It was some trouble caused most likely by commenting. I had to return to older version without comments and pictures. Now it works again, but need to redo all comments/editing manually. So this particular document got messed up, but Zotero looks to work fine on the new one.
