Unable to import certain articles from the ACM Digital Library

Hi,

Firstly, thanks for the amazing work in Zotero!

My issue: usually the Zotero Connector plugin for chrome works well, but I always have problems with certain articles in the ACM digital library.
This link gives a problem (http://dl.acm.org/citation.cfm?id=3029062), and all of the other issues of that magazine. There are no problems for conference articles though.

I wonder what the problem is for importing this particular magazine ...

Thanks in advance!

Zotero version: mac, 40.0.29.15
Chrome: 55.0.2883.95 (64-bit)
Zotero connector: Zotero Connector 4.0.29.11

For the record, I have always had this issue since I can remember, with previous versions of all of the 3 mentioned software
  • Yes, that will create an error because there is no title specified in the bibtex file. We can fix that on the zotero side by generating a "formal title" info. I will make a suggestion for this.
  • Thanks for identifying the issue zuphillip!

I can contact the ACM and tell them about the issue ... but I doubt there will be a fix any time soon
  • Well, in the BibTeX format more or less everything is allowed, thus I am not sure if they are technically wrong. It may be also quite unusual that you cite a full journal/magazine issue. Anyway, my fix is suggested here https://github.com/zotero/translators/pull/1236
  • Thanks for suggesting the fix. I like keeping the magazine in my collection in Zotero ... although I might not cite it later on a peer-reviewed article, but might go into other documents as a citation (an internal experiment protocol..)

In any case, thank you :)
  • A translator fix is now up. Your version of Zotero will automatically update within 24hs, or you can update manually using the "Update Now" button in the "General" tab of the Zotero preferences. If you're using Standalone, restart Zotero and your browser after updating. Any further problems let us know & thanks for reporting.
  • It works! wow, that was super fast ... I should have wrote here like a year ago.

    Amazing, thanks again!
