Two questions/possible configuration issues. Running Zotero-5.0-beta.108+66549f9_linux-x86_64.tar.bz2 with the new connector 4.999.5 on Linux Mint 18.1 and Firefox 50.1.0
1. From within Zotero, right-clicking on an item and selecting view online opens the item using the existing instance of Firefox. This is the correct behavior.
From within Zotero, right-clicking on an item and selecting view snapshot opens the item in a new instance of Firefox. This is not correct, and is really annoying!!!
I've checked the Preferred Applications for Linux Mint and for Gnome, but can't see anything amiss.
2. Previously when taking snapshots of webpages, the images were not saved. With the new beta and connector, all images are saved.
When I look at the old snapshot in Zotero, file:///media/alec/WRITINGSYNC/ACTIVE/CITATIONS/storage/2VRB3WXD/collectors-fallacy-confession.html images are not present. Links are provided to the images.
If I take a new snapshot using the new connector, the images are now included. This takes a lot of space.
Is there a way to NOT save images above a certain size?
1) Can you provide a Debug ID for that? I'm not seeing that behavior.
2) We're using a new method for saving snapshots in 5.0, and the new method is hopefully a bit more accurate on more pages, but images should've always been saved. I'm not sure what you mean by "Links are provided to the images" in the old version — as in, there are <img> tags in the HTML pointing to remote hosts? That was certainly never intended behavior, and if I save as a webpage (i.e., not the default Embedded Metadata option, which doesn't save a snapshot) from that page with Zotero 4.0 and either Firefox or Chrome, I get a snapshot with local images.
In any case:

No, but we might investigate adding such an option, which would also help with videos (which, when embedded certain ways, can be saved via the new snapshot method).

In any case, limiting the saving of images in snapshots to at or below a maximum size would be a nice option.
