Unable to install LO 5.1.6.2 integration

Despite several attempts, I failed to install the LO add-in from Zotero.
Here is my configuration :
Mac OS 10.12.1
Zotero 4.0.29.15
Plugin 3.5.12.SA.4.0.29.15
LO 5.1.6.2
Oracle JDK 1.8.0_112
When I tried to install from Zotero, at the end of the process, I have the error message :
"Zotero LibreOffice Integration
Installation could not be completed because an error occurred. Please ensure that LibreOffice/OpenOffice.org/NeoOffice is closed, and then restart Zotero."

Before trying with LO, I also tried with Openoffice 4.1.3 and had the same issue

Any help would be greatly appreciated, as I really enjoyed Zotero and OpenOffice on my previous Mac book and would be very disappointed to be unable to continue to use it !

Many thanks in advance,
Emmanuel Mandonnet
  • You can try downloading the .oxt file directly from https://github.com/zotero/zotero-libreoffice-integration/raw/master/install/Zotero_OpenOffice_Integration.oxt and installing that into LibreOffice.
  • You could also try installing LO from the 5.2 branch, as that's the one that's been reported as working with the JDK you're using.
  • I indeed installed LO 5.2.4.2 and now everything is working perfectly well !
Many thanks for your fantastic job.
With my best wishes for 2017 to the Zotero community.
  • By the way, it could be very useful to give the information about the compatibility between the different versions of zotero, JRE or JDK, and LO.
It might be somewhere on the documentation page, but it would be nice to get it easily from the download page.
    All the best,
    EM
  • Generally I completely agree, but to be honest I think we're tapping a bit in the dark with respect to LO on Mac compatibility. There's nothing in Zotero that should require you to run LO 5.2, but the Java implementation in LO for Mac has just been a rollercoaster for years, unfortunately, and it's hard to keep up.
