Save to Zotero using Pubmed is missing

Hi -- I often save citations directly from PubMed by using the "Save to Zotero using PubMed" option from the drop down. This stopped appearing for me a few days ago. Now the only options are the following:
-Save to Zotero using embedded metadata
-Save to Zotero using DOI
-Save to Zotero as web page (with or without a snapshot options)

None of these options imports all the data I need (for example, some leave out the abstract). Any suggestions? I access PubMed through my institution. Thank you.
  • could we get a sample URL exactly as you see it? Works fine for me here: https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/27687771
  • It didn't work for me with that link (or an PubMed link), here is my sample URL:
    https://phstwlp2.partners.org:2052/pubmed/27687771

Could it be an issue with my proxy? If so, would it help to delete them all and start again?
  • yeah, that looks like your proxy completely removes the URL so Zotero doesn't recognize this as PubMed anymore. Which browser are you using?
  • It never did this in the past.
  • and your URLs have always looked like this? Are you using Zotero Standalone in addition to the Firefox add-on or not?
  • I am not sure, but I'm assuming they have changed given this recent issue. I have Zotero Standalone, but mostly use the Firefox add-on.
  • When I type www.pubmed.gov into Firefox it automatically brings me to the library log-in (the one with the proxy that removes the URL allowing Zotero to recognize PubMed). I've also tried connecting to PubMed via a google search, but no matter what link I click on, I'm brought to the library log-in. I've searched and have tried various things in settings and in about:config to prevent this from happening with no luck. Any suggestions?
  • you can probably disable that by disabling auto proxy redirect in the "Proxy" tab in the Zotero preferences.
