How do I delete collection folders in Mac OS?

I can delete items, but not collections. Documentation says "Right-click on the collection (control-click on OS X) and choose “Remove Collection…” but right-clicking does not show "remove collection" command. I tried different key combinations -- control, option, command and click. no luck. Using Mac OS 10.11.6 el capitan.

You're looking at this in the software (Standalone or Firefox add-on)? I'm not sure you can remove collections on the website version at this time.

If so -- what options do you see on right-click/ctrl click on a collection?

edit 2: It's "Delete collections" not "remove collection" should that be the cause of confusion.
  • Yes, using Standalone. Thanks for pointing out I can remove in Firefox add-on. Apparently can only delete one collection at a time, so a large cleanup is a bit slow. Thanks for your time, enjoy the holidays!

Just to be clear, Standalone and Zotero for Firefox are identical — you certainly don't need to use Zotero for Firefox to delete collections. In addition to the context menu, you can delete a collection by selecting it and then pressing the Delete (backspace) key.

And you can delete collections on the website, too — but the context menus you see in the documentation are referring to the actual software, not the website. On the website you would just see the standard browser context menu.
