Get .pdfs into Zotero w/o drag and drop (Linux)
I have a couple of pdfs on my harddisc that I want to put into Zotero to then grap their metadata.
Usually this would be straighforward - drag&drop. Unfortunately, drag&drop is broken in Zotero, both in 1.0.9 and in 1.5b.
The best I was able to think of up to now is to open the files with the acrobat plugin in FF, then make a snapshot and then drag the pdf out of the parent item. That seems like a lot of work.
Anyone has a better idea?
(for what it's worth ubuntu 8.10, FF. 3.0.7 and Zoter 1.5b)

A possible workaround is discussed here:

Hope this helps,

"the workaround for ubuntu is to click on "New item" "link to file" then right click "retrieve metadata for pdf"
