Zotero and Mellel

Hello,

I am with the standalone Zotero and works with Mellel.
Is there an integration between the two softwares?

I'll appreciate any information about

You will need to rely on Zotero's rtf-scan function (documentation) and best set a dedicated style for pasting the bibliogaphical entries from your Zotero-database (with Cmd+Shift+A) into the acutal text in Mellel; you'll find one here.

Zotero and Mellel can work, but the rtf-scan feature in Zotero is currently far from flawless. There is hope, though, that this may recveive improvements soon (see in this thread here.
  • Thanks for your explanations.
I work with Mellel and Bookends to create bibliographies.
What is the difference between Bookends and Zotero in function and utility

Can't really help with a comparison since I don't use Bookends. There has been some discussion here in Zotero's and over in Mellel's fora: see this and this. Would expect Bookends to be better integrated with Mellel and Zotero to be faster in gathering and more versatile in handling data – particularly web-research and handling pdfs. YMMV - it probably makes sense to identify your needs and see which of the apps is most useful to you, both have a following of grateful users.
  • It's been a few years. But there is no integration

While there is no bespoke plugin for Zotero, integration between Mellel and Zotero is quite reliably possible (and has been for a while) with the help of the third-party plugin RTF/ODF-Scan for Zotero. This works fine and is excellently documented and available here.
The workflow is in detail also described here (substitute Mellel for Scrivener). Since Mellel won't export into .odt, you'll need a wordprocessor for the very last step that works with the odt-format (Eg. LibreOffice).
