Publisher place localization
Hi,
I've been googling this for a while and didn't find what I'm looking for, so I decided to ask here. Sorry if it's been asked before!
Is there any way to have Zotero localize the names of the cities used in the field "publisher place"? I'm currently writing a paper in Spanish and I would like to have the names of cities which have an accepted Spanish translation translated automatically. For instance, if a book was published in New York, I would like it to say "Nueva York".
Of course, I could change this information in my collection. But it would take a lot of time and if in the future I need to write a paper in English, I would need to change it again.
Is there any way that I can add this to the localization of the CSL I'm using (Chicago Manual of Style 16th edition full note)?
Thanks!

Just a random thought: do you know if there's any way (via Zotero or via LibreOffice) to setup a sort of hook script that gets called after Zotero refreshes the bibliography? Maybe that way I could hack a patch to fix my personal need.

For at least 20 years there has been much discussion about the proper way to indicate publisher locations. Style guides differ. AACR2 rules state that (my summary) publisher place should be in the language of the book's title or text. A book in the English language published in New York should be entered as New York. A non-English text published in Vienna should be listed as published in wein when cited in an English language document. Note that few adhere closely to the "rules".
