Editing the Order of your references

Can someone tell me how to edit my reference orders? I am trying to submit to a journal that wants citations in AMA format, but wants the references to be in alphabetical order. Does anyone know how to re-order my references in alphabetical order and have it automatically update my citation numbers in the text of the paper?
