Firefox Update = No More Zotero?

Last night, Firefox shut itself down and restarted after updating the new version. This morning, I noticed that now, the Zotero bar is no longer available. Does this mean all of my library and notes are now just gone? Sigh.
  • What version FireFox?

I upgraded to 3.0.7 with no ill effects
  • http://www.zotero.org/support/kb/no_status_bar_icon
  • I'm having problems too. Firefox recently updated to version 3.0.7, when I installed zotero no icon appeared. So I followed the instructions and looked under tools, but it wasn't there yet was under Add-ons. View-> statusbar was also checked. So I unchecked it and rechecked it and the zotero icon magically appeared. Although there was never an icon in the address bar even when on web of science etc, it worked wonderfully. The problem is, since turning off the computer, I have not managed to get Zotero to reappear. There is nothing under the "no-status-bar-icon" support page about what to do if it has installed properly but does not appear under tools. I'm getting a bit desperate as I need a lot of the references I had saved on zotero... is there a way of recovering them outside of firefox? Or simply making zotero work again?

If it shows as installed but you still don't see it under Tools, follow the "Corrupt extension files" link on that page. You might also try disabling your other Firefox extensions.
  • I have been struggling with add-ons for the last 2 days. I have now deleted them all and only re-installed Zotero. I have deleted the extensions files and started them again but with no success. Zotero shows as instlalled on the add-ons list but nothing on the Tools list or the Status Bar. Any more clues would be most appreciated.
  • Thank you it seems to all be working now. Removing the extension files didn't seem to have an effect but disabling my other extensions worked straight away. Hopefully it will carry on working this time.
  • lisa: You should be able to re-enable your other extensions one by one, restarting Firefox each time, to find the conflicting extension. The known issues page would be a good place to start. If you find a conflict not listed there, let us know.
