Changing proxies

I have items in my library that are weblinks that I accessed through my institutions proxy server. I am now at a new institution and those links are still for my old institution. When I look in preferences for listed proxy servers, the proxy for my new institution is there and my old institution is not.

Is there any way to update all links that use proxy servers to work my new institution proxy? Or will I have to manually update each link with this issue?
  • those links/URLs should never have gotten saved with the Proxy (that's a Zotero bug/lack of feature that I think may still be around) so unfortunately no, there is no way to update the links.
That said, why would you be using the links all that much? Presumably you have the article saved in Zotero?
  • Unfortunately for the link attachments, there is no way to update them. For the URL field for Zotero items, however, you can use the Zotero javascript API with regex searches to remove the proxies.

(@adamsmith, yes that bug is still there. aurimas [I believe] at one point wrote a pull request to de-proxify URLs, links, and Library catalogs on import, but it was never accepted)
  • Thank you. I hadn't been keeping up with my citation and pdf organization. So some of these are books and some of these imports from before automatic attachment of pdfs. Slowly working to bring some order back to these entries.
