Is this Line Correct? "chrome" when using "firefox"

I am locked into this URL: chrome://zotero/content/tab.xul
Why does it begin with "chrome," as I am using the latest version of Firefox 64? thanks, Charles
  • In your case (and in general) 'chrome' refers to the appearance on the screen interface of the software _not_ the Google browser.

Someone else will need to verify but I believe that Zotero doesn't yet work with FF 64. As I understand it the 64-bit version treats plug-ins differently than does the standard 32-bit version.
  • Zotero itself works with 64-bit Firefox, but the word add-on doesn't. (what DWL says about the chrome:// -- in technical terms it's a protocol, just like http://, and it indeed has nothing to do with the browser of the same name)
  • What AdamSmith says. I wasn't clear in referring to the Word add-on.
