Blank tab when opening PDF in external application
Hello,
I've set Firefox preferences to open PDFs in an external application – Preview, Skim, etc. – rather than Firefox.
Double-clicking on an item opens the relevant PDF as expected in that viewer, but also leaves a blank Firefox tab (e.g. "zotero://attachment/35/") in the background.
Is there any way of preventing this from happening? Manually closing them for every Zotero item I open is a bit of a pain.
Thanks

DWL-SDCAIf it is any consolation, for the past two Firefox versions every time I click on a link (including those from the web outside of Zotero) to a pdf, a new tab is opened even though the pdf document opens within an external application. I suspect that there is likely to be a Firefox setting that controls this but I haven't yet tried to find it. I'm using a Mac I don't know if that makes a difference.

sdvrJust a quick note of appreciation to Dan Stillman - that hidden preference solved it. Thank you! It's been a bit of a busy week, apologies for the delayed reply!
