Stand alone

Hi every time I try to down load a pdf from a website it comes up that stand alone is either not open or unreachable. this has been happening for weeks. I do have the stand alone activated so not sure what to do. I am a new user and am still working through this site. any advice would be great.

    Which Browser? If you're using Chrome, if you paste
    chrome-extension://ekhagklcjbdpajgpjgmbionohlpdbjgc/preferences/preferences.html
    in the Chrome bar and hit return, what does it say below "Zotero Standalone"?
