Problems with the literature list in Zotero (and citation style)
Hey there,
I'm using Zotero for the first time due to my Bachelors thesis. I now put in the first citations, but Zotero (and the online lists) didn't have the citation style my Uni requests. So I took a similar and changed everything in the then generated list by hand...this was good enough, till I put in a second citation. Zotero changed my first by hand changed citation back to the style it was orginally...not the style I had changed it to. So every time now i add another citation, it all goes back to the beginning. The only solution I see now, is to change it all at the end, but that would be super annoying to wait till then.
Maybe somebody knows a solution for that? I would really be grateful!
Or maybe somebody could even help me to find the right citation style for using?
This is what my Uni wants:
In the text it should say [Domb 16] after the sentence I want to quote. This is the 4 first letters of the author and the year of publishing. In the literature list it then should look like this:
[Domb 16] Name, N. (1. letter of first name): Title. Edition. Location: Publishing company Year.
Example:
[Bäns 03] Bänsch, A.: Wissenschaftliches Arbeiten: Seminar und Diplomarbeiten. 8. Auflage. München: Oldenbourg 2003.
But first it would help me to know if there is a solution with this refreshing problem :) Thank you soo much!

This is an old discussion that has not been active in a long time. Before commenting here, you should strongly consider starting a new discussion instead. If you think the content of this discussion is still relevant, you can link to it from your new discussion.
It seems fairly close to what you may need. You should denote differences clearly.
If you need to customize the label to only use the first author, you would need to use http://citationstylist.org/tools/ with a hidden preference, as described in https://forums.zotero.org/discussion/5239/3/first-letter-of-author-as-citation/
