where can I find the zotero preferences for setting sync?

I'm new to Zotero and have downloaded the 1.5 version and the sync_preview. The instructions are to "open Zotero's Sync preferences tab and enter your login information in the Zotero Sync Server section." But I can't even find the tab!

    Open the Zotero pane by clicking on the Zotero logo in the status bar. Then click on the gear-icon found in the left column of the Zotero pane. Select "Preferences...". In the preferences window, select the "Sync"-tab found on top.

    Well i did all that Rintze but i don't see the Sync icon on top! Help Please!

    And I as well. I see "General, Search, Export, Shortcut Keys," and "Advanced."
    No Sync tab; not using the beta release.
    Please advise.

    Sync is only available in Zotero 1.5. If you want to try it now, you'll need to use the beta release.
