importing/syncing references after reformatting computer

Hello,
My computer has been reformatted recently. Although I have the complete list of my references on my online Zotero account, I cannot import/sync them with the newly downloaded software on my computer. Is there a way to get these back?
Thank you very much!
  • It can take a while for a complete sync of large libraries. If you made a backup, restore it. It'll be faster.

Have you enabled syncing and logged in in the zotero extension? Do you get any messages regarding the sync attempt?
  • No messages regarding syncing and it's been a week since I've reinstalled it.
Since the computer was formatted, the folder has disappeared as well, so I guess that's why I cannot find any of the files back. However they're indeed listed on my account.
I don't have a backup either. I'm realising now that I should have had one.
In this case is it possible to retrieve the data on the standalone or firefox version from the online list I have?
  • Yes. If you properly setup syncing preferences, your client should retrieve your references.

    Have you walked through:
    https://www.zotero.org/support/kb/changes_not_syncing
  • I indeed fount them finally! Thank you very much!
