all of my files that were sorted have become unfiled.

When I went to use Zotero today I found out all of my collections have been deleted and the files have instead been placed in the single "my library" folder. Im writing my MA thesis so everything has been meticulously organized and if I can't fix this im looking at hours and hours of extra work. I haven't touched Zotero so I don't even know what would make this happen. Any help would be welcomed.

    all items are always in my library -- are you sure the collections aren't just collapsed (little arrow on the left of My Library)?

    thats the first thing I checked. Sadly nothing is there anymore.

    In this order
    Turn off automatic sync. If you have synced, check if the collections are still online. Try restarting Zotero.
    It's very unlikely that collection data just disappears. My bet would be on a display issue.

    First I checked the the drop down arrow then turned off the auto sync then went online and found the same thing there. All of the collection folders deleted but everything still available in my library. Then I restarted everything and found everything the same way. The last thing I did was try to update zotero and still no change.

    You can try use a backup (zotero.sqlite.bak) but if you more times open and close Zotero I am not sure, if there is different content from your current database.

    @Dan -- can you see when/if collection data was deleted on the server?

    No collections online. Three collections were deleted via sync on 5/30, another one today.
