Files on my computer

I recently started using Zotero and I am still a novice. I would like to move some of the articles I have already saved in files on my laptop into Zotero. I can not find clear directions on how to do this. The articles are in folders in My Documents--I want in Zotero.

Please Help!

    I am not sure what you mean exactly. Do you link your documents to the items in Zotero (Add Attachment -> Add the link to file) or do you add the file directly (Add Attachment -> Attach Stored Copy of File). In the first case, you add the only hyperlink to document somewhere on your PC and these files are not synced to the Zotero web storage. In the second case, files are directly copied in Zotero/Data directory and are also synced to the Zotero web storage.
