  • I don't quite understand -- could you describe what you're currently doing exactly that you want to be able to do with one click?

    thanks for reply adam,

when you click on save button in firefox it saves the page to your lib, it has a default and also you can open the menu to choice (with snapshot) (without snap shot) meta data , etc.

my question is whether i can change the default action to one of those options or not?!

so i dont need to choice them from menu each time...
  • Not exactly, no.
You _can_ change the default snapshot behavior for saving webpages in the general tab of the Zotero preferences.
Beyond that, though, Zotero decides on what's commonly the best choices (e.g. it prefers using import specifically for a site over generic embedded metadata) and that one you cannot change.
  • oh thanks, my aim was to change it for pubmed pages, it by default just save plain page,no snapshot.

    cheers
  • btw in preferences general tab i only see one option that says take a snapshot by default , but apparently that doesnt work,

is that a bug or im missing something?!

If you are on PubMed and simply click (not right-click) the Zotero document icon the metadata for the article should automatically flow into the Zotero collection that is open. Only rarely do I need to right-click and select another option from that menu on _any_ site. Unless, for some reason, you want information about a particular web page on the PubMed site (and _not_ the metadata for an article you found as a search result) you will almost never need to use the right-click options with PubMed. Simply clicking on the document item should result in importing the relevant metadata.
  • thx for reply,

my problem is that mendeley doesnt sync without an attachment, so it needs snapshot.
  • Sorry, impossible to change that one. You definitely don't want to use the Snapshot option here, though -- that'll lose you all the advantages of importing with Zotero. Either just use the Mendeley bookmarklet, or add an attachment after import.
