syncing problem

I tried to sync my zotero and I got this report ID: 1246058270 and was told to post it to the forum. Basically, I want to sync my zotero library onto the web platform so that I can also use zotero interchangably on my desktop. Why is this so difficult?

The error message tells you what to do:

The note '[...]' in your library is too long to sync to zotero.org.

Shorten the note, or delete it and empty the Zotero trash, and then try syncing again.

(If you've resolved that and are getting a different message now, restart Zotero and provide a new Report ID.)

I did try that and it hasn't worked yet despite trying it multiple times. Any advice?

You're not deleting the right item, then, or not emptying the trash. The error message will tell you the item in question.

If you dragged a lot of images to notes -- which is the most common cause of this (and doesn't work) -- you could also be seeing a chain of similar, but not identical, error messages.
