Error processing uploaded data (Report ID: 8fd7eaf8)

This is the error message that I get when I try to sync my collection with the Zotero server. My error report ID is 1420437099.

I load my data into the local database from PubMed after I have synced my local database with the server, and it syncs properly. But then when I load again into the local database, it fails to sync, and the error symbol (yellow triangle) appears. I resync with the server, and I can load another collection, but then the error message appears again. So evidently, it's not staying synchronized.

Thanks for any assistance. I am running version 1.5-sync3.8.
  • I'm having a similar issue. Whenever I try to sync I get the "error processing uploaded data" and it doesn't sync (my two computers each have their own references and they don't seem to upload/download any of the other computer references).

    I looked in the forum and people who had similar issue reported that it was fixed with 1.5-sync3.7, but I am using 3.8.

    Any ideas?
  • daylab: Find the attachment in your library with the filename 19167334.html (searching the 'storage' directory in your Zotero data directory if necessary) and modify the parent item. (You can just modify a field and then change it back immediately.) It should sync after that. If not, provide the new Report ID.

  • I went to the attachment in m library with the filename 19167334.html after searching the 'storage' directory in my Zotero data directory. There were three copies of this file with different dates. I modified one of them by changing the search field in pubmed. I then synced it designating restore from server. Now everything has disappeared including the folders into which I was placing pubmed articles.
  • and the system shows a sync error.
  • As in, "Restore from Server" in the Sync pane of the Zotero preferences? That will delete your entire local database and replace it with the data on the server. I was suggesting a way to fix the sync problem without clearing your local database...

    What's a Report ID for the error you're getting now?
  • I have had the same problem after an upgrade from zotero 1.09, but solved it. What I did:

    - uninstalled zotero 1.5 and removed the zotero 1.5 folder (including the profile folder in C:\Documents and Settings\username\Application Data\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\profilename.default);
    - replaced it with a backupped zotero 1.09 one;
    - reinstalled 1.5beta1 and waited patiently for indexing by zotero 1.5. The last time my zotero folder was located in a My Dropbox folder, which may have caused zotero to freeze during setup.

    On top of that I checked whether the "author" inputs were correct (heard that this may cause sync errors), for example I had one reference with an author field which contained several authors divided by commas. I corrected these field. Then I removed the server data (preferences --> sync --> reset --> restore to zotero server). Now my zotero is syncing brillianty and I use box.net as my Webdav server via http://www.box.net/dav
