Firefox addon saves only as web page

Hi!

I have a new laptop and... a new problem with firefox addon - whatever type of media I want to save firefox addon offers to save it just as a "web page". Chrome addon is O.K. (offers PDF etc).

My laptotp: Windows 10 64bit, Firefox 45.0.1, Zotero 4.0.296 (firefox addon).

Of course, I can change it later manually but that is not a solution.

Do not you have any idea how to "repair" it? Thanks in advance.

Martina
  • which pages are you looking at in particular? PDFs just say "webpage" in Firefox, they still save as PDFs, so that's not an actual problem.
So what we'd want is a page that saves as a webpage in Firefox but as something else in Chrome.

Your are right, PDFs seem to be OK after saving.

But for example http://onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/10.1046/j.0016-8025.2001.00824.x/full zotero saves as a web page while I want to save it as an "article in a magazine" (it is my translation from Czech, maybe it has a little bit diffenent type name in English version). Before, zotero used to recognise the source as an article, showed an "article icon" and saved as an article automatically...
  • Sorry for all, I will be better continue answer in Czech (my English is horrible)

  • don't read czech, but the above works for me, so I'd like a debug output ID for reloading the page:
    https://www.zotero.org/support/debug_output#zotero_for_firefox_or_zotero_standalone

  • Thanks you all. I have started debug mode, ID: D858341621.
  • @Dan -- could you check, please?
  • Zkuste odebrat a znovu přidat doplněk.
  • Could you open your Zotero data directory, open the 'translators' directory, make a ZIP archive of that directory (via right-click), and email the ZIP file to support@zotero.org with a link to this thread?

You can then delete the ZIP file and reset your translators from the Advanced → Files and Folders pane of the Zotero preferences, which I believe should fix this.
  • Dan, thank you very much. I installed firefox portable in the meantime - and zotero addon was working. Reinstalling the addon in my primary firefox did not work. Finally, your advice did help, it really was a problem with translators.

And thank you all for your cooperation, I greately appreciate it.

    Martina
  • You are welcome :)
