Cannot Download Standalone

I'm trying to put Zotero on a new laptop - i installed the Chrome plug-in, but I can't download the standalone - it gets finished with extraction, then just stops. I've restarted and begun again, but nothing happens.
  • which operating system?
  • Windows 10 - but the laptop and all software were purchased in Cambodia, so some of it may be pirated. Not my choice, just what's available here.
  • So it sounds like you can download but not install it? Very hard to troubleshoot that. What's the size of the file you're downloading?
  • 38050 kb. Is there someway to get a smaller version? Or to work around not having the standalone? I use Zotero a lot, but do not use Firefox.
  • If you can get Firefox running, the Zotero FF plugin can hook up with a connector from Google Chrome or Safari:

  • also, are you downloading from zotero.org/download? I know file sizes can differ on systems and I'm trying this on linux, but the standalone exe for Windows is almost 39MB for me, so that's odd.

No, that's the correct(-ish) size — Windows (7, at least) uses base 2, so it reports it as 38050 KB. 38962616 bytes = 38962.616 kilobytes = 38049.429688 kibibytes. (Maybe taking block size into account in the rounding up?)
