Zotero skipping a citation in the text

Hi, I am using Vancouver method of citation, while I was editing some references, Zotero skips one number (96 then 98) in the text. however, number 97 appears in the bibliography only, which is a deleted citation. I have tried to insert this reference again, but the program keeps skipping a number. what shall I do please?

    If you're in Word, press alt+F9 (alt+FN+F9 on Mac) to show field codes. That will likely show you the -- hidden -- citation in the Word document (between 96 and 98, of course). The same key combination makes field codes disappear again.
