Integration error

I recently upgraded my Word for Mac and now I can't insert citations directly from Zotero. There are other functions that are suddenly gone too, and whenever I try to set do anything from Word I get this message: Zotero could not load the component required to communicate with your word processor. Please ensure that the appropriate extension is installed and try again.

I've gone on Firefox and tried to download the plugin and absolutely nothing happens. I get a prompt saying that they will begin the installation once Firefox restarts, I allow it to restart, and then nothing.
  • Under Firefox Tools--> add-ons (or by putting about:addons in the URL bar and pressing enter) is the Zotero Word for Mac add-on listed or not?
  • I have the same problem with Zotero standalone for Windows [Zotero is installed on a Win 7 version installed on a network but I have a level of admin rights enough to install etc.]

Zotero could not load the component required to communicate with your word processor. Please ensure that the appropriate extension is installed and try again.

Extension is installed however: one is Microsoft Word 2010 [Authorization plugin NPAPI] and Microsoft Office 2010 [The plug-in allows you to open and edit files using Microsoft Office application]

aribe: No, adamsmith is asking about the Zotero Word integration extension, which should show up and be enabled in Add-ons pane in Standalone. That's what the message is referring to. This usually applies to Zotero for Firefox, because it's bundled with Standalone, but we've seen some weird cases where it's gotten disabled in Standalone.

If you're still having trouble after that, start a new thread, since this one is about Firefox and your issue likely has a different cause.
