Installation of Zotero to Chrome and Word 2013

I already have Zotero on Firefox and in Word 2013. First, do I have to install Zotero in Word again? And second, what issues are there using Zotero in Chrome that I would not experience on Firefox.

You do not have to be detailed. Just give me the highlights and then a link I can go to in here for the details.

Thanks!
  • There's no Zotero in Chrome. There's Zotero Standalone, which you can use with a Chrome extension. The two together are about 95% equivalent to the Firefox add-on.

Standalone installs the Word add-on automatically, nothing you need to do beyond clicking OK.

No major changes, no. We listed them in a thread a couple of months ago, maybe someone remembers, but it's all small stuff (proxy handling, selecting alternate translators on import), especially now that you can save PDFs conveniently from Chrome.
  • So no reason to use the Chrome Browser unless I was on an Android system, and wanted to access the bibliography from Word only. I would not get any kind of link to websites like I have in Firefox. Right or Wrong?

  • Wrong. As I said, the combination of Chrome extension and Zotero Standalone is equivalent to the Firefox add-on in most respects.
(Sorry, can't make out what you mean with the "Android system" sentence.)

Beyond that -- why don't you explain what you'd like to do and we can tell you if using Chrome with Standalone is possible and/or a good idea.
