Are there plans to have a web-based zotero interface

I have had a look at all the ref-managment software, which is out there to get web-based access to my content, which currently is within gdrive. The pricing of online storage pricing of zotero is compared to others fair. But still, there is hassle to install addons or the standalone and then get all the all the prefs right.
Are there any plans to give zotero a web-based access, directly via link and the interface pops up to continue working right on? Furthermore has anyone heard about a program, that you grant access to your online storage(e.g gdrive) and acts as a ref-manager directly from its website.
The whole office-package, mail programms, all goes to the cloud and can be directly accessed there, why not have zotero have the same. What do you think about it?
  • there are a couple of cloud-only reference managers. Most notable would be Paperpile, RefMe, and RefWorks.
They all have their problems (and personally I'd not use a cloud only version), but Paperpile is probably closest to what you want. I think there are plans to improve Zotero's web interface significantly, but I don't think the web app will be as powerful as the software in at least the medium term, no.

It might also help for you to be more concrete in what you're requesting that isn't already available at your online library:

    https://www.zotero.org/user02398/items/

    and with the bookmarklet:

I would imagine the ability to add links/notes might be one.

But you can already add items and upload attachments, for instance.
  • Thank you adam for pointing out a few suggestions, I guess paperpile is what comes closest. Looking forward for a web interface for zotero, also it seems to be far down the road. One day :)
  • …but, as noksagt asks, can you explain what you're looking for that the existing web interface doesn't provide? We're in the process of improving it, but it's not clear to me from your posts that you're even aware of the existing functionality.
  • The online library actually is great, but it lacks the distinctive feature for seamless integration with gdrive (where I had the bib stored already, including an upgraded storage plan there). Also worth mentioning drag&drop arrangements, (just being a little faster on what I want to do).
    I am sorry for overseeing.
